Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 5, 2026

Clipii respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you use the website, Web App, browser extension, and mobile app, and what rights you have. Using the service means you have read and agree to this policy. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-product notice before they take effect.

1. Data controller

The data controller for this service is the independent operator of Clipii, operating under the laws of the People's Republic of China.

  • Name: Clipii
  • Privacy email: nexmoex@gmail.com
  • Data Protection Officer (DPO): Not appointed

2. Personal information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

  • Account details: email, hashed password if you sign in with email, and basic profile information.
  • Third-party sign-in: if you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive the basic profile you authorize, such as email and public name.
  • Library content: links, notes, highlights, tags, page snapshots, images, PDFs, voice notes, and export packages you save.
  • Payment information: amount, payment status, and subscription status. We do not store full card numbers — card data is handled by our payment processor (see section 5).
  • Communications: emails, feedback, and support requests you send us.

2.2 Information we collect automatically

  • Device and network: IP address, device or browser type, operating system, and time zone.
  • Usage: page visits, feature use, session state, and information needed to keep you signed in.
  • Logs: request times, error logs, and performance data needed to operate the service.
  • Processing results: transcripts, status, and job records from crawling, recognition, and transcription. Original video and audio files are never written to cloud storage. Media processing may extract a temporary audio track on a server, which is deleted when the job ends.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information, including “sale” as defined under laws such as the CCPA. We share information only in these cases:

  • Service providers: cloud computing, storage, search, sign-in, support, and analytics vendors bound by confidentiality. Infrastructure is provided by Cloudflare.
  • Payments: card data is handled exclusively by our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor, Waffo Pancake, and is not stored on our servers.
  • Sign-in providers: Google or GitHub, only to complete the sign-in method you choose.

  • Legal and regulatory requests: when required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a competent authority.
  • Business transactions: in a merger or acquisition, we will give notice and require the same protections to continue.

Browser devices and AI assistants need separate, revocable authorization before they can access a workspace you choose.

  • Storage: passwords and similar secrets are hashed or encrypted; library content is kept in private cloud storage.
  • Access control: least privilege; devices and assistants require separate authorization.
